The biggest worry I hear about sunset sessions is: The biggest worry I hear about sunset sessions is: 'My children will be too tired.' Honestly? It rarely works out that way. This gorgeous pair (aged 3 and 7) happily ran, explored and played until after 9pm. Because they weren't being asked to sit still and smile—they were simply having an adventure together. Golden hour gives the most beautiful light, cooler temperatures, and children who are free to be themselves. It's often far more relaxed than parents expect. Don't let the clock put you off. Sometimes the best memories happen when bedtime is just a little bit flexible. One of the questions I get asked most often is: “What’s the best time for a photoshoot?” And honestly… timing makes SUCH a difference. That soft, glowy light you see in dreamy family photos? It usually isn’t taken at midday. The time of day affects: - the mood of your photos - how flattering the light is - whether children are hot/tired - how relaxed the session feels overall But don’t worry — you don’t need to figure it all out yourself. Part of my job is guiding you to the best time for YOUR family, your children, and the type of session you want (And no… cloudy weather does NOT ruin photos!) There are some people you come across who are just There are some people you come across who are just exceptional at what they do — and here is one of them 💫 I recently had the pleasure of photographing an open clinic for Caroline Kinash, a brilliant physio based right here in Benson — and it felt only right to share just how incredible she is at what she does. I’ve personally been to see Caz many times over the years for pilates my own rehab, and every single time I come away feeling reassured, understood, and in the best hands. Her level of knowledge is amazing — she’s constantly learning, staying up to date through courses and scientific research, and it really shows in the way she works. What I love most is how she takes the time to explain things properly, gently correcting any misconceptions and helping you actually understand your body. And somehow, even when you’re being examined (which isn’t always the most fun!), she makes the whole experience feel relaxed and calm. Sleep or no sleep, this little one was just the mo Sleep or no sleep, this little one was just the most wonderful, calm and engaged newborn I have every photographed! At 2 weeks old, he had already decided that sleep wasn't for him, but his eye contact was amazing and he lay calmly allowing me to pose him comfortably throughout the session! What a gorgeous new family! Every newborn is different and not all sessions are the same, but they are all baby led and uniquely yours!
